“dumb things”

I’m teaching a drawing class again. It’s super fun. The students are really engaged. We have a ten minute break at the half-way point. No one left during the most recent class, everyone was just chilling on their phone.

Since I had my laptop connected to the projector, I thought I’d show off some more of my work. “Since we’re here, do you want to see some of my dumb things?” I asked.

A student immediately said, “Don’t call your work dumb!”

“Ah,” I replied, “so what is it like when you say bad things about your own work?”

“Oh this is a lesson too,” they replied.

“Haha, I tricked you!”
