What to do differently?
Only one student came to the final day of drawing class. There’s a pretty high rate of students not attending. Another session starts Monday (!), so I’m trying to figure out what needs to change.
Is six weeks too long? Other classes range from 4 to 6 weeks. Currently, the other painting classes are just 4 weeks. That seems so short, but maybe people are just too exhausted after a month.
Is it the subject matter? The final day is rocks, fossils, and water (and some other bonus lessons). People do seem to enjoy the lesson when they attend. But maybe it doesn’t sound interesting on paper?
Something else?
I really enjoy teaching Beginning Drawing, but obviously if there’s a way to tweak it so it’s more useful, I’d like to. The education manager is going to reach out to previous students and see what she can find out.
