Medieval-Style Bookmarks
These bookmarks are inspired by medieval register bookmarks. Register book marks consisted of multiple cords (or ribbon, braids, fabric, etc) held together. Sometimes they were physically sewn into the book’s binding, sometimes they were stand alone.
These bookmarks are made from wooden buttons and cotton embroidery floss. Floss is hand-braided using common medieval braids.
Each bookmark is different regarding colors, braid styles, and even number of braids. Bookmarks with two or three braids are approximately 16.” Single braid bookmark is approximately 9.”
