partial telephone restoration

I purchased this antique crank telephone for the educational traveling trunks I’m making at work (they are nearly finished!).

I bought it because it has all of its guts. But it didn’t crank. 🙁 I don’t need it to be fulling working, but I do want the crank to crank.

After consulting several decades-old forum posts and a 40 year old manual, I restored the phone a bit this past Monday. I cleaned it and lubed it, so now the crank cranks! The little shelf (for writing I guess?) broke not long after I received it, so I glued it back on with Gorilla wood glue.
